The Simple User Guide to Setting up Olark Live Chat
Olark, a live chat platform for sales, marketing and cutomer support, comes with a wide range of features to help you customise and manage your live chat experience. It provides customisation options for themes and languages, real-time reporting, searchable transcripts, real-time chat, and team management tools. This blog shows you how simple it is to set up Olark live chat on your e-commerce website.
Set up Olark Account
Create an Olark chat account from here. Multiple cost-effective pricing options are available.
1. Download the plugin from the nopCommerce marketplace.
2. Login with the valid credentials and go to Administration > Local Plugins.
Click the “Upload plugin or theme” button available in nopCommerce 4.0 and upload the “Olark” zip file.
Note: If plugin is still not visible, click on “Reload list of plugins” button or restart the application.
3. Click on Install button. This may take some time.
4. Ensure the "is enabled" button is checked.
Click here and get a Site ID. Enter same Site ID as API Key in Olark plugin configure options.
Click the save button. Refresh the page, if the chat box doesn’t appear.
You can modify the text of the displayed fields and validation messages through the admin panel.
Go to Languages > Edit (English). Move to the “String resources” tab. Enter “Resource Name” as ‘olark’ and click "Search".
Click on the "Edit" button and modify the text; that text will now reflect in 'configure' options.
