The Simple User Guide to Setting up Tidio Live Chat

Tidio Live Chat is a valuable tool that gives your customers the opportunity to communicate with you real-time, and vice versa. It reduces cost, improves the customer support experience and can help in increasing sales. In this blog, we tell you how to set up Tidio Live Chat for your website.

Setup Tidio Account

Create a Tidio account from here. Tidio provides a fundamental 'forever-free plan', with payment required only for additional features that cater to your unique business needs.

Installing Tidio

1. Download the plugin from the nopCommerce marketplace.

2. Log in with valid credentials and go to Administration > Local Plugins.

Click the “Upload plugin or theme” button available in nopCommerce 4.0 and upload the “Tidio” zip file.

 

Note: If the plugin is still not visible, click on “Reload list of plugins” or restart the application.

3. Click on the "Install" button. This may take a few minutes.

4. Ensure the "is enabled" box is checked.

              

Configure Tidio

Click here to get a public key. Copy the Public Key as API Key in Tidio plugin configure options.

Click the "Save" button. Refresh the page if chatbox doesn’t appear.

Localise Text

You can modify the text of fields displayed and validation messages through the admin panel. 

Go to Languages > Edit (English), move to the “String resources” tab, enter the “Resource Name” as ‘tidio’, and click the "Search" button.

Click on the "Edit" button and modify the text. This should reflect in the configure options.
